Release Candidate of SP2 for Vista and Windows Server 2008 out for testers
Microsoft has just seeded a release candidate (RC) build of Windows Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 to Microsoft Connect testers. No public beta is available, with Microsoft recommending that the average Joe "wait until the final release" before installing this service pack.
Administrators might want to note that as of this moment, the SP2 RC contains a grand total of 691 hotfixes, which will surely save a lot of manual patching from a native installation of Vista. In addition, there are reports of significant improvements on top of those from SP1, which will surely be a boon for users too timid to launch into the beta of Windows 7.
