Red Hat designates top priority projects
The concept of "stateless" Linux and a variety of third-party development tools will be increasingly important to Red Hat in 2006 and 2007, officials said. "Stateless" essentially means that applications can run geographically distributed from OS kernels across a network--an important task for the emerging world of web services. The open-source SystemTap, OProfile and Mudflap system monitoring tools are also big parts of Red Hat's vision. This is all in addition to the much-touted Xen virtualization program.
