Red Hat brings Linux to SMB market
Red Hat is betting that small- and medium-sized businesses are ready to take a chance on Linux, even as the open source software company continues to pursue the high-end of the market. Execs say they have no intention of selling their solutions in Best Buy stores, but do plan to make their code available for download on-line. The company's strategy is "to get the desktop more to the masses than our existing client is getting today," Paul Cormier, Red Hat's executive vice president of engineering, told eWeek.
