Pretty in pink: Sony Vaio helps cancer research
If you like your gadgetry to be as pink as your Barbie collection, I've got good news for you: October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and to help spread the awareness, a number of manufacturers are releasing special edition pink gadgets, with a share of the profits going to breast cancer research. What you see here is the Vaio VGN-CR290EAP laptop, all dolled up in its special edition finest and ready to hit the town. Inside you'll find a 14.1-inch LCD display, a 2.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, a 200GB HDD, a DVD burner, an integrated 1.3-megapixel webcam and 2GB of DDR2 RAM. The price is a reasonable $1,370 and Sony will donate $75 of that to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. If a pink laptop is a bit much for your tastes, check out the The 4GB NWZ-A816PNK Walkman and the DVP-FX810/P portable DVD player, both of which are pink and include a $10 donation to the foundation.
