As we inch closer and closer to the release of Adobe's Creative Suite 3--the first version that will offer native support for Intel-based Macs--more surprising tidbits about the suite continue to surface. Adobe announced yesterday at the Photo Marketing Association trade show in Las Vegas that it will launch an additional version of it's flagship Photoshop product alongside CS3, called Photoshop CS3 Extended. Photoshop extended will allow users to create 3D graphics, will assist in adding graphics and video to film, will allow users to stitch images together into videos and will have more robust tools for analyzing and measuring images. The program will also sport specific features for architects, engineers, scientists and medical researchers. With an online version of Photoshop currently in the works in addition to the Extended version, Adobe is clearly courting every niche that it can find, in an effort to maintain its dominance in the digital imaging industry. The full lineup of CS3 products will launch sometime this spring.
