Personal data on millions of veterans stolen
The good news about the theft of a Veterans Affairs worker's laptop and external hard drive is that it appears to be a common burglary for the hardware. The bad news: the hardware contained personal data of up to 26.5 million veterans and their spouses. Now there are some hard questions to answer, like why was the data allowed off-site, could this be the largest data theft ever and what happens to the stolen gear when the thief or buyer reads all these articles?
