Patch Tuesday brings critical IE, Windows fixes
As we reported last week, Microsoft has blessed us with another nine patches (six of which are critical) in commemoration of this month's Patch Tuesday. Perhaps most important among these is a series of patches for the popular Internet Explorer web browser. This month's Patch Tuesday fixes three code execution vulnerabilities in IE, which exist in versions 5.0 through 7.0 of the browser. Also on this month's menu: fixes for Microsoft Office, basically every version of Windows, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Virtual PC and Microsoft Virtual Server. As usual, the patches are available through Windows Update as well as on Microsoft's website.
