Palm Treo 500v unboxed/reviewed/filmed

Palm's long-rumored Treo 500v might have gotten official but we still know tantalizingly little about how the company's first Windows Mobile smartphone looks, feels and performs. With the first units making the rounds in Europe, however, we now have a bit more firsthand info to go on. The Palm fans over at Treonauts got their hands on a 500v unit and judging from their response, this is no toy. "[I]t's a very slick, slim and light smartphone that feels absolutely great in your hands and is surprisingly simple to use for a Windows Mobile non-touchscreen device," Treonauts reports. In addition to the Treonauts unboxing/review, a video demo from a Spanish press conference has emerged (link below) and judging by the video, the Treo 500v is responsive and plenty usable when running Windows Mobile 6. Palm sure took their own sweet time in designing a thin, modern smartphone but it looks like they may have actually gotten it right--just keep your fingers crossed that they bring it to the U.S.
