Palm hints at new smartphone

Following the unceremonious cancellation of the Foleo, Palm fans might find themselves dreading that there is little to look forward to in the short term. Worry not, friends, there are still plenty of new products left in the Palm pipeline. On the company's official blog, Palm spokesperson Stephanie Richardson hints that the "new device" set to be debuted in Europe this Wednesday is "not Centro." That leaves us scratching our heads a bit, though more than a few folks are guessing that it might be the Vodafone-branded "Gandolf" that we saw earlier--basically a Centro with different styling, running Windows Mobile 6 instead of Palm OS. Don't worry, folks: we'll let you know as soon as we do.
