Palm Centro: Is this it?
Here's what we currently know about Palm's forthcoming Centro smartphone: it will run Windows Mobile 6 on Sprint's EV-DO network, sports a tiny QWERTY keypad and touchscreen and will retail for a paltry $99. What don't we know? Well, what the darn thing looks like, for starters. For months now, we've been staring longingly at leaked photos of Centro prototypes and while those early shots gave us a feel for the size and shape of the thing, most of us suspected that the device wouldn't be carrying that pale, translucent look into adulthood. Well, if the latest leaked shots of the Centro offer any indication, the little device has indeed grown up. A pic purporting to be the first official product shot of the device (at right) has been making the rounds as of late and it looks quite legit, if we may say so ourselves. Now all that's left to be uncovered is the release date for the littlest member of the Treo family--how about it, Palm?
