Font shops, graphics departments and video editing teams, look alive! A zero-day exploit was released over the weekend that takes advantage of a vulnerability in the error-handling mechanism of OS X's kernel, to allow full system access to a user with limited privileges. Although Apple released a patch over the weekend (before the exploit was discovered), many OS X users may still be vulnerable. Due to the nature of the exploit, servers with remote users and macs with multiple user accounts are at the highest risk. As Apple's public profile continues to rise, it's likely that mac users will see more and more malicious code that targets their platform of choice.
