Oracle to buy Hyperion for $3.3 billion
Continuing its recent acquisition-spree, Oracle has announced that it will buy business intelligence software vendor Hyperion for a whopping $3.3 billion in cash. Oracle plans to integrate Hyperion's products into its own business intelligence and analytics software packages, in order to "offer customers a broad range of performance management capabilities, including planning, budgeting and operational analytics." No word yet on how the purchase will effect Hyperion's customers, support or sales channels.
