Oracle-Siebel antitrust review extended
With its deadline imminent for approving or challenging the $5.8 billion Oracle acquisition of Siebel, the US Department of Justice received an extension from antitrust officials to consider it some more. Now they'll wait for Oracle to submit additional, unspecified information, after which Justice gets three weeks to act on that information. Should customers read into this news? Will there be a long battle, as with the Oracle/PeopleSoft deal? We don't know, and Oracle isn't commenting.
