Oracle considers Linux acquisition
Would Oracle acquire Red Hat or Novell? That kind of deal could create a seismic shift in the business computing landscape by giving Oracle an operating system it can use to compete against Microsoft. This is not mere speculation: Oracle chief Larry Ellison said he is pondering such a move. Another option is for Oracle to build its own Linux distribution, Ellison said. Start placing your bets now and definitely email me your opinions: Will it be Red Hat or Novell, and if so, for how much money? Or does Oracle have other motives or plans here? This could be the story of the year.
