Opera 9.1 adds antiphishing filter
In its efforts to market Internet Explorer 7, Microsoft has touted the browser's antiphishing filter as a major security advantage. Of course, this backfired a bit after a phishing bug was found in the browser, less than a week after its launch. Still serious about antiphishing protection? You may want to take a look at another browser. Firefox 2 also has some antiphishing tools and the just-released version 9.1 of Opera adds a real-time antiphishing filter. When turned on, the filter checks each visited site against a number of phishing databases and will display a warning if a site is suspect. Sure, the filter slows down browsing a bit but considering the threat that phishing and malware pose to the enterprise, that may be a small price for your users to pay. Plus, Opera comes out ahead of the competition in a number of speed tests, so it might be a good compromise between speed and security.
