Novell opens SuSE Linux Pro development
The actual Linux kernel is developed by anyone who volunteers, and market leader Red Hat recently made its own distribution into an open-development model as well. Now, Novell is doing the same thing with its SuSE version. It won't be an automatic process; Novell will gradually hand over control to a steering board. The move is unrelated to recent Novell layoffs in Europe, officials said.
