In what one ZDnet blogger is calling "Exploit Wednesday," a hacker has responded to Microsoft's Patch Tuesday with a new exploit. Just after the company patched a number of zero-day vulnerabilities in Microsoft Word, among numerous other apps, a new zero-day exploit targeting Microsoft Word has appeared. The attack can be used to gain remote control of Windows XP and 2000 systems and requires that a user open an infected Microsoft Word document. As it did before, the company is advising users to be weary of Word docs (not a very useful fix, might I add).
