When Netflix first unveiled its PC-only "Watch it Now" feature back in January, we all knew that more advanced functionality was undoubtedly around the corner. Rumors about the company entering the set-top-box market have been floating around for a while now, so it's nice to see that Netflix is finally coming clean about its future plans. In a blog entry, the company confirms that support for both OS X and Firefox are on the way and even goes so far as to explain the holdup (the lack of OS X-compatible, studio friendly DRM and a late development schedule, respectively). What's more, the blog's author confirms that "we're bringing Netflix to the TV in 2008," though no further details were given. "I can't say anything more specific about that, except to note how excited I am about what we're working on," Netflix programmer "Steve" wrote. So what's it gonna be: a proprietary Netflix box or Apple TV support? Let the wild speculation begin!
