net neutrality

A new bill in Congress to give the FCC enforcement powers for network neutrality is actually a toothless sham, insists a group of top Internet companies. The FCC's power would be case-by-case but not to define any new rules or policies. The companies resisting it include Amazon.com, eBay, Google, IAC/InterActiveCorp, Microsoft and Yahoo. The network operators continue to insist the opposite--that fears over a company negotiating a deal for more bandwidth do not mean everyone else gets less.
