MXsense announces email archiving support for Linux and Unix servers

Email archiving solutions provider MXsense Solutions Inc earlier this week announced a new version of its cloud-hosted email archiving solution that now supports Linux and Unix operating systems. MXsense works by transparently sending a copy of all incoming and outgoing emails to its hosted service for archival and off-site backup. Archived emails are searchable using a customizable web interface hosted by MXsense servers.

The service supported only Microsoft Exchange email server initially, though this announcement means that organizations running Sendmail and compliant email servers on various Linux and Unix platforms will now be able to tap into MXsense.

Explaining the rationale behind MXsense's new capabilities, Chief Executive Officer Paul Banco elaborated on how the Linux and Unix segment was being ignored by solution providers.  Banco noted, "There are a great many organizations using Linux and Unix systems and they have the same e-mail archiving needs as Exchange users, so we've crafted a version of MXsense for them."

A fully functional demo of MXsense can be obtained for free here.
