Microsoft tests CLI edition of Longhorn

Microsoft released a beta version of a GUI-less Longhorn, because of user demand for a quicker and slimmer server, officials said. Aspects such as DHCP servers, file servers, DNS servers, and Active Directory can be controlled from the command-line. It requires 500MB of drive space which, remarkably, is considered svelte in Redmond. It can be remotely managed using other Windows consoles or Terminal Server. However, it's not upgradeable, officials said.
