Microsoft to test Windows 7 auto-update feature

Microsoft is set to deliver some patches to users of the beta version of its Windows 7 operating system next week. And it appears there are up to five updates in the pipeline. Except of course, these "updates" don't really fix bugs or add any new features in the process.

The entire process was explained by Brandon LeBlanc in a blog posting on the official Windows 7 blog. It's also worth noting, these updates will not install automatically, regardless of your settings.  Also, the test updates do nothing more than replace system files with "the same version of the file currently on the system."
