Microsoft searching for voice with Nortel
Microsoft and Nortel are expanding their alliance against common rival Cisco Systems. Microsoft and Nortel already began working together for mobile-VoIP systems earlier this year, and now they're planning to co-develop unified messaging software. It's a smart deal for both companies on paper, but while Microsoft can afford to fail, it could be a make-or-break deal for Nortel.
