Microsoft patches Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 Beta
Microsoft has released an update for the beta of Windows 7, directly addressing compatibility and reliability issues related to Internet Explorer 8. This update came about as a result of user feedback, and addresses stability issues such as crashes and freezes caused by Internet Explorer. In addition, similar issues caused by other popular third-party components such as Adobe Flash, Adobe Acrobat are also fixed.
According to Microsoft program manager Herman Ng, IE was responsible for about 40 percent of reliability-related problems, with the rest caused by third-party components. The new updates are available via Windows Update, and as usual, can also be manually downloaded via the Microsoft Update site.
