Microsoft has fixes planned for 2,000 Windows 7 bugs

Thanks to the efforts of testers, Microsoft says it has fixes for over 2,000 bugs that have been found. According to Steve Sinofsky, Microsoft's senior vice president for the Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group, Microsoft was receiving up to one "Send Feedback" report every 15 seconds at its peak. This adds up to a staggering 500,000 feedback reports to date.

Of course, the definition of a bug is extremely broad where Microsoft is concerned. It could range from a cosmetic or consistency issue, or even a confusing user experience or a missing feature. This includes reports by the "various forms of telemetry built into Windows 7."

Just how good Windows 7 will be is still up in the air. Still, if things continue progressing the way they have so far, it might well be the best Windows yet.
