Microsoft faces fine over EU antitrust deadline

Officials of the European Commission are tired of Microsoft not obeying its orders, and now say they'll fine the software giant about $2.4 million per day (Euro 2 million) starting five weeks from now. Specifically, Microsoft hasn't met the requirement to document its servers enough for competing application server vendors to establish interoperability. The EC is also considering whether Microsoft did enough to unbundle Media Player from its consumer operating system.
