Microsoft challenges, obliges EU regulators

Microsoft on April 24 will begin appealing its $613 million (€497 million) antitrust fine from the European Union. Microsoft also said it will license Windows communication protocols rather than pay the EU's daily fine of $2.43 million (€2 million) for still not complying with the March 2004 ruling. But how valuable is the code if Microsoft would rather license it than pay a small fine? Tell me.
