Microsoft Bing adoption dips
Barely three months after its launch in May, the momentum behind Microsoft's new Bing search engine appears to be tapering off. According to NetApplications, Bing lost 0.2 percent points, dropping to 3.39 percent of the global search market in September. This slight dip after months of steady growth is mirrored by statistics released by StatCounter, which pegs Bing as going down from 3.58 percent to 3.25 percent.
Of course, we will need to wait for additional figures to come in via other web-metric companies before jumping to any conclusions. Considering the intense marketing and engineering efforts that Microsoft launched for Bing, this must be somewhat worrisome to the Redmond-based company.
