Earlier this week, Microsoft released eight security updates--patching a staggering 23 vulnerabilities spread across Windows, Internet Explorer and some other Microsoft software, including portions of its Microsoft Office productivity suite.

However, what is of greater concern is that many of the patches resolve vulnerabilities for things that have already been exploited, or are already publicly known. In fact, 10 of the 23 exploits are either working exploits or at least proof-of-concepts. As such, security and system administrators are urged to ensure that the Windows systems on their networks are patched as soon as possible.
