Mergers leave Western Digital ripe for picking

Is it time for more mega-deals in the storage drive business? There aren't many giant vendors left--Fujitsu, Hatachi, Seagate, Toshiba and Western Digital are some--and we've been hearing this speculation for quite a while now. Industry analysts have varied opinions about this, but they seem to agree that Seagate or the Japanese companies would lead any charge. Meanwhile, will flash memory make electomechanical drives obsolete, or will they stick like tape storage?
