Mass. flips, now sides with Microsoft

The top advocate of open-source software for the Massachusetts government left his job, and now the government is supporting Microsoft's new Office Open XML file format. Sun Microsystems says it's a big sham, but top open-source lawyer Larry Rosen said the format is valid, whether people like its source or not. (A big question which Massachusetts lawmakers may not realize: what if Office Open XML only works with Office 12?)
