This exploit may not pose a legitimate security threat to Apple fans--at least not yet--but it's sill cool enough that it bears repeating: Shane Macaulay, a software engineer, won himself a shiny new MacBook after successfully hacking a similar machine in the aptly-named "PWN to Own" competition in Vancouver, British Columbia. Macaulay teamed up with security researcher Dino Dai Zovi and the two discovered a Safari vulnerability and produced a working exploit in only 9 hours at the event. That's certainly a commendable feat of hacking--now let's just hope that the exploit doesn't show up in the wild.
