Linux users to Ballmer: Show us the code!
If you've been following the Steve Ballmer vs. the people of Linux story, you'll know that the Microsoft CEO continues to publicly claim that Linux "uses [Microsoft] intellectual property." Ballmer has yet to back this statement up with any examples or even hints of what that intellectual property might be, however. The open-source community has now stepped up to the plate, aiming to either strip the code in question from open-source software or to call Microsoft's bluff. A website titled "Show Us the Code," challenges the software behemoth to reveal the pilfered code by May 1st. If Microsoft does, open-source developers will remove the code from their releases (quite a few developers have already signed up). What if they don't? Well, we'll all just point and laugh then, won't we?
