LinMin, a new Linux systems management start-up, was launched earlier this week. Founded by Laurent Gharda, former chief of Open Country, LinMin's main offering is what is called LinMin Bare Metal Provisioning (LBMP). The technology is implemented based on "OCM Provision," a remote provisioning and imaging technology previously developed at Open Country. LBMP packs a mean punch, and according to LinMin CEO Gharda, it supports a staggering 30 flavors of Linux. In addition, LBMP works with existing enterprise systems' management agents from companies like BladeLogic, BMC, HP or IBM.  It is easy to create system image on a generic server, which then can be distributed out to remote machines. An annual subscription for LinMin costs $100 for a 10 client system, $400 for 100 clients, and $750 for 250 clients.
