Linux-based Palm OS pushed back to 2008

Palm fans, you're not going to like this one bit. The Linux-based OS that Palm announced alongside the Foleo, often referred to as "Palm OS II," has been delayed until 2008. During a conference call, Palm CEO Ed Colligan acknowledged that "Products based on the new Linux-based platform that we're working on, that won't be until some time next year." That's bad news for Palm: the company's Foleo has failed to impress and many onlookers have speculated that the Linux-based OS could be the company's last hope for regaining lost market share. We can only assume that this means Palm will continue shipping devices based on Windows Mobile and Palm OS for the remainder of the year, unless they've got something else up their sleeve.
