Lenovo, Dell prep new business laptops

Tools

Jumping on the latest portable bandwagon, Dell has announced that it has started offering Solid State Drives (SSDs) in its portable Latitude line. The Latitude D420 and D620 can now be configured to contain a 1.8-inch 32GB SSD drive from SanDisk in lieu of the standard hard drive--but the upgrade will cost you a cool $549.

Meanwhile, the folks over at Lenovo have been hard at work on the next generation of ThinkPads, which will be the first to drop the colorful IBM logo. The company's upcoming 14-inchers, the T61 and R61, will sport Intel's new 64-bit, dual-core Santa Rosa CPUs, which will run at speeds of up to 2.4GHz. The machines will also feature Intel's new PM965 integrated graphics chipset, Intel's Turbo Card "Robson" flash memory and will gain Blu-ray drives in July. The T61 and R61 will be available in May.
