Layoff Watch: Dell, AMD, Moto

It appears much more likely that Dell is trimming its American & Canadian labor forces--not to reduce spending but also in an effort to INCREASE profits--say by $3 billion? Is this the same Dell that pledged to spend $70 million on Chinese hardware across 2008? Would it also be the same Dell that spends around $60 million in executive salaries and perks.
It certainly appears that American (?) companies have conveniently forgotten the work force that invested their lives in crafting those companies into the multi-national revenue generators they are today. Is it seriously true that we've become more focused on putting insane amounts of money in the pockets of the executive suite and delivering larger checks to our investors than in remaining loyal to our work force?
It's getting so that I'm ashamed to share the same continent with this level of corporate and social ethical behavior.
It's not just layoffs, its also job transfers to low cost centers like India. This is kind of like the attitude people have about the environment. Screw the future, I want convenience now. With Michael its "screw the future of America, I have money to make."
