A new beta release of Google's Chrome web browser is now available. Beyond various user interface improvements, one visually obvious feature would be its support of a new theming system. Users will now be able to customize various aspects of the browser, such as the tabs, titlebar, URL bar, bookmarks toolbar, and the window frame.

In addition, Google says that the built-in V8 JavaScript engine in this latest beta is 30 percent faster than the one in the latest stable release. Ever since its release last year, Chrome has been steadily increasing in market share. One key complaint though, is its lack of support for plug-ins, a much-loved feature in its rival Firefox browser. That being the case, you can be sure that the Google Chrome team is working frantically to get support for extensions ready.
