Jobs confirms 3G iPhone for next year
With all this talk of the U.K. iPhone announcement, you may have found yourself wondering what has become of the mythical 3G iPhone. Well, the answer, straight from El Jobso's mouth, is that the 3G iPhone is alive and well and should see the light of day sometime next year. "We are working on the next iPhone already, the one after that and the one after that," Jobs said at the U.K. press conference, according to Pocket-lint. "You can expect a 3G iPhone later next year."
Jobs' comments fall in line with the various 3G iPhone rumors that we've been hearing, though he didn't give any further indication of exactly when the 3G phone would make its debut. If a recent report from TheStreet.com is to be believed, however, the new version of the iPhone will appear in Q1 of next year with 3G and--get this--A-GPS onboard. If you believe the Street, the new iPhone "will be available sometime in the first quarter," according to "people familiar with the production plans".
