Job cuts coming at Yahoo?
In an internal memo leaked to the Wall Street Journal, Yahoo senior vice president Brad Garlinghouse likened his company's lack of focus to peanut butter spread on bread--thin and even across a large number of web services. In the memo, titled "The Peanut Butter Manifesto," Garlinghouse tells Yahoo top brass that "Change is needed and it is needed soon." Among his suggestions are a reduction in Yahoo's workforce by as much as 20 percent, stating that "Heads must roll." While it remains to be seen whether Yahoo executives will take Garlinghouse's suggestions to heart, it is likely that the company will be forced to restructure due to increased competition from the likes of Google.
