There's a push underway in the Linux community to bring the National Security Agency's programming modifications to commercial and even consumer distributions. Security Enhanced Linux, or just SE Linux, is a set of very rigid rules governing how applications interact with the operating system's critical files, memory and processors. Programmers are trying to make SE Linux more customizable without weakening it, along with creating development tools so other programmers can't cite the learning curve as an excuse for insecurity.
