Iran says it has detained computer worm suspects
Iran says it has arrested and detained "nuclear spies" in relation to the Stuxnet worm that is currently infiltrating government equipment. While actual details were scant, this development does appear to confirm many experts' beliefs that a foreign state is behind the creation of the Stuxnet malware.
Indeed, for all its sophistication--not to mention how hard it is a remove it from an infected system--Stuxnet was designed to be delivered via removable storage drives such as USB flash drives. As a result, there is a need to first introduce the malware into a target network. Given the different variants that have plagued Iran's nuclear plant; the presence of an insider is a completely logical inference. On its part, Iran intelligence minister Heydar Moslehi had already pinned the blame on western "spy services."
