I bring my iPod with me to work every day and chances are, you probably do too. These days, it's not unusual to see people listening to, charging and even syncing up the ubiquitous devices during the workday. But could an iPod be used for business purposes? Some businesses think so, handing out iPods to their employees so that they can watch or listen to briefings, company announcements, training courses and seminars. Buying iPods en masse might seem costly but given Apple's discounts for bulk customers and the price of training seminars, it's a business proposition that might actually make sense. The folks at Siemens seem to think so: By purchasing 100 iPods the company saved hundreds of thousands of dollars on training seminars. And let's face it, who among us wouldn't want a free iPod?
