iPhone completely unlocked by hackers?
According to various reports from the hacking community, a new SIM card version-independent hack allows the iPhone to be fully unlocked, requiring only a blank Turbo SIM card and the phone itself. Folks who have tested out the hack claim it "will give you full calling, SMS and GPRS data capabilities with any network and no extra hardware needed, since it only requires you to modify the $80 blank SIM using your own iPhone." Gizmodo has vowed to test the method ASAP but given the number of successful break-ins that iPhone hackers already have under their collective belt, I wouldn't be surprised if this one turned out to be legit too.
