iPhone coming to Europe in November

Like Tickle-Me-Elmo, the Buzz Lightyear Doll and the Cabbage Patch Kids of yore, the iPhone may soon become the must-have Christmas toy ... in Europe. The Times is reporting that O2 has been selected as the exclusive partner for the iPhone in the U.K., with the final paperwork "to be signed imminently." What's more, the Times fingers T-Mobile as the carrier for the iPhone in Germany and Orange as "the likely front-runner in France." While recent rumors seemed to suggest Apple might ink a Europe-wide deal with Vodafone, the company has apparently decided to pursue a market-by-market approach instead. The Times reports the iPhone will retail for "about £300" in the U.K. while other sources name €450 as the magic number in Deutschland, where the phone will be available on Nov. 1.
