Intel's Centrino 2 arriving in June
If laptops are your thing, chances are that you're looking forward to Intel's 45nm, Penryn-based, WiMAX-sporting Centrino 2 platform. Well, looks like you won't have to wait too long: the company has announced that it will start shipping Centrino 2 products in June. The Centrino 2 line will include both "Performance" and "Small Form Factor" product lines; the former will range from 2.26Ghz to 2.8Ghz and will be priced from $209 to $530; the latter will range in speed from 1.2Ghz all the way up to 2.2Ghz and will be priced from $262 to $316. Expect to see both platforms in new laptop models sometime this summer.
