Intel announces mobile Penryns

We all saw it coming but it's still exciting to see Intel get official with their mobile Penryn lineup. At CES today, Intel announced 16 new 45nm Penryn CPUs--five of them mobile--as has been expected for some time. From the looks of it, the announcement is pretty much on par with the leaked info that we saw last month. Still, Intel has yet to provide specific info on the model numbers and clock speeds of the chips (hopefully we'll have that soon), though two of the mobile Penryns have since been confirmed in a Toshiba press release regarding upgraded laptops. For the time being, here are the earlier leaked details:
-
X9000 2.8 GHz, 44W, 6MB, $851
-
T9500 2.6 GHz, 35W, 6MB, $530
-
T9300* 2.5 GHz, 35W, 6MB, $316
-
T8300 2.4 GHz, 35W, 3MB, $241
-
T8100* 2.1 GHz, 35W, 3MB, $209
*Confirmed by Toshiba
Only the coming days will tell whether or not we're five-for-five on this one.
