Research In Motion finally announced details of its BlackBerry workaround software in case there's a court-ordered injunction shuttering the service. By installing a software patch on devices and servers, customers can store not-yet-delivered messages on their own servers instead of on RIM's, thereby no longer infringing the NTP patent. At least that's the theory. Many other details are still to be determined. Many observers still predict a settlement.
