IE7 for XP Beta 2: has Firefox met its match?

Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 is not too different cosmetically from Internet Explorer 6, but how does it compare under the hood to Firefox 1.5.0.2? The new IE7 has a cleaner interface than before and has improved handling of standards and tabs. It also has new RSS handling. However, it lacks Firefox's huge range of extensions, and its security is still a massive question mark.
