IBM researchers take AXE to computer security

Who needs anti-virus software? IBM researchers developed a white-list technique they call Assured Execution Environment, which is kernel-level software that authorizes software to execute based on policies. They claim to have a patented method that would keep the authorization method away from malware authors. Critics say that this method could become a management headache.
